Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) Switch
Single Pole, Single Throw Switch
SPST Switch
Single pole, single throw switch is also known as SPST switch. And basically single pole, single throw switches perform on/off action and are commonly known as on/off switches. A single pole, single throw switch is used to connect a circuit or connect a circuit connection between two terminals. A single pole, single throw switch is used to switch the power supply on or off.
Basically single pole, single throw has only one input terminal and only one output terminal and is easy to design.

What Is Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) Switch?
Basically SPST switch is on/off switch and this switch has only one input terminal and only one output terminal. and is used to connect or disconnect the power supply. Basically the circuit is closed when the single pole, single throw switch is on and the circuit is on when the single pole, single throw switch is off
Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) Switch Circuit Connection
Basically in this example we have connected a single pole, single throw switch, a battery or power supply and a lamp or LED. The connection of SPST switch is basically one input terminal is connected to the power supply wire and one output terminal is connected to the lamp wire. If the lamp or LED does not flash when the SPST switch is on, or when the SPST switch is on, the circuit is not a closed loop circuit, so no current flows, so the circuit does not turn on and the lamp remains off. And the lamp or LED flashes when the SPST switch is closed, basically when the single pole, single throw switch is closed when the circuit is closed and current flows between the SPST switch and the lamp or LED turns on.
Application Of Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) Switch
- SPST switch is simple in design so this switch is light switch.
- A single pole, single throw switch is also known as a toggle switch.
- An SPDT switch has only one input terminal and only one output terminal.
- A single pole, single throw switch controls only one circuit operation.
- A single pole, single throw switch is used to flow or stop current
