Fire and Gas Detectors

Fire and gas detectors

A fire and gas detector is a device that detects fire in the environment or gases in the atmosphere. Generally a fire detector detects the presence of smoke, heat and flame and a gas detector uses different sensors to detect the presence of flammable gases and toxic gases.

fire

Fire is a chemical process or reaction of a fuel and a gas. It is basically created using fire, oxygen and heat. Basically wood produces a lot of light or heat and smoke

Fire detector

Fire detectors are basically fire detectors divided into three types first smoke detector, second heat detector and third flame detector.

1. Smoke detector

Smoke detectors are basically divided into three types of smoke detectors, the first is ionization smoke detector, the second is light scattering smoke detector, and the third is Light Obscuring Smoke Detector.

1. Ionization smoke detector

Generally, ionization smoke detectors are used to detect the presence of smoke in the environment and ionization smoke detectors are used to measure the smoke using the chamber. The first chamber is used to compensate for changes in ambient temperature, humidity or pressure. And basically the second chamber is the smoke  passing through the chamber. And in the second chamber there is continuous current flow when smoke enters the second chamber when not current flows basically ionization smoke detector detects this current flow and current is not flow when give the signal is to detect the smoke

2. Light scattering smoke detector

A light scattering smoke detector detects smoke. And generally light scattering smoke detectors work on the Tyndall effect. A light scattering smoke detector basically consists of a light source and a photo cell. In this sensor the light flow is continuous to the photo cell and the smoke enters the chamber when the smoke creates a gap in the light flow and the light is not transferred to the photo cell. And when a light-scattering smoke detector shows that there is smoke in the atmosphere, the light does not detect the photocell.

3. Light Obscuring Smoke Detector

Basically a light obscuring smoke detector detects smoke and a light obscuring smoke detector smoke interface with a light beam between the light source and the photo cell. basically photo cell measures the light.

2. Heat Detector

Basically a heat detector detects the amount of heat in a fire. And generally heat is known as rise in temperature. And the heat detector is divided into three types, the first is the constant temperature, the second is the Rate of Rise and the third is the Rate Compensated.

1. Fixed Temperature

Basically constant temperature means measuring heat and this type of sensor determines the temperature and when the signal is transmitted by detecting the heat the temperature increases.

2. Rate of Rise

Rate of rise is a method of measuring temperature and is essentially a sudden increase in temperature with a pre-set temperature when the presence temperature is triggered and the presence of temperature is indicated.

3. Rate Compensated

Rate Compensated is a method of measuring temperature. and rate compensation methods measure temperature such as changing the room temperature or increasing it when the resulting temperature is present

3. Flame detector

Generally a flame detector detects the amount of fire or flame present in the environment and basically the flame detector sensor consists of an ultraviolet flame sensor and an infrared flame sensor. And an ultraviolet flame sensor detects ultraviolet radiation emitted by a flame.

Gas Detector

gas detector is detect the presence of gas in environment using different sensor. Commonly there are two types of gas detector first is flammable gas detector and second is toxic gas detector.

1. Flammable Gas Detector

Flammable gas detector detects flammable gas present in the room environment and basically detects flammable gas during LFL and UFL periods. Flammable gas detectors are of three types, the first is the catalytic gas detector, the second is the infrared gas detector, and the third is the open path gas detector.

1. Catalyst Gas Detector

Catalytic gas detectors are also known as pellistor gas detectors and detect flammable gases. And catalytic gas detectors detect gases by oxidation. Using a bridge circuit.

2. Infrared Gas Detector

An infrared gas detector uses the properties of hydrocarbons to measure flammable gases.

3. Open Path Gas Detector

An open path gas detector is also known as a line of sight gas detector and measures flammable gas essentially an open path gas detector measures gas by absorbing infrared energy.

2. Toxic Gas Detector

A toxic gas detector measures the presence of toxic gases in the room atmosphere. And the toxic gas detector is divided into two categories first gas thai detects immediate health hazard and example of this category is H2S, CO, HF, HCL and CL2 and second category is gas which causes health hazard on prolonged exposure and example of this classification is vinyl , chloride, benzene, toluene and etc
