Instrumentation and control engineering
Instrumentation and control engineering
Instrumentation and control engineering is the study of process variable measurements and controllers. Instrumentation and Control Engineering is a combination of two disciplines Instrumentation Engineering and Control Engineering. Instrumentation and control engineering consisting of field instrument (PLC, DCS, SCADA, sensor, Actuator etc.), control system, automatic equipment or equipment used in industries. Instrumentation & control engineering basically aims to automate industry and improve product quality, stability, reliability and reduce labor costs or human error. Also ICE deals with safety systems like FAS (Fire Alarm System), SIS (Safety Instrumented System), ESD System (Emergency Shutdown System) in power plant. Basically, i&c engineer jobs are available in oil and gas, petrochemical, biomedical, food and beverage, manufacturing industries. Basically the job of Instrumentation and Control Engineer is to design and control the system, maintain the system and minimize the errors in the system and troubleshoot and solve the problems. Instrumentation is basically measurement and control. It measures system parameters that are used to process or control the system. Essentially instrumentation engineers process temperature, pressure, flow and level measurements.
Instrumentation is a combination or combination of electrical, electronics and mechanical essentially various types of mechanical machines used to automate using electrical control panels and programs that calculate and control machine tasks.
Instrumentation engineering is the study of measuring and controlling process variables in a manufacturing or production field. Control engineering, also known as control systems engineering, is the study of control theory for designing systems with desired behavior.

Future for Instrumentation and Control Graduate
I&C engineers are basically responsible for plant and system design, construction and maintenance of large systems in plants and industries. In the coming year ICE engineers will develop fully automated industries to reduce human effort and improve product quality and final product efficiency. It will also develop new control systems with greater efficiency.
Instrumentation and control engineering job opportunities
Instrumentation and Control Engineering is one of the newer and less popular engineering branches in India, hence the number of graduates entering the market every year. With this advantage, graduates are provided with really good job opportunities in Government as well as private organizations in robotics, electrical, automation, mechanical as well as electronics fields.
Instrumentation and control engineering job Salary
Salaries, especially starting packages, also depend on the companies employing graduates. It depends on the type of job you want to do as well as the college you graduated from. Fresh graduates can expect a salary package of Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per annum. Multi-national companies and government organizations offer relatively better packages than all other companies.
