Push button Switch

Push Button SwitchPush Button Switch Diagram

A push button switch is used to turn a circuit on or off such that the switch is pushed down and then the switch is opened or closed. Pushing the switch in the case when the switch is open closes the switch and pushing the switch in the case when the switch is closed opens the switch.

What Is A Push Button Switch?

A push button switch is an electric switch and has an electric mechanism to turn the switch on or off. And this switch is a manually operated switch and this switch is made of plastic or metal.  And the working of a push button switch such that pushing the switch when the switch is open closes the switch and pushing the switch when the switch is closed opens the switch. Push button switch is available in different colors this color can be black, red, yellow, green, white and blue.Push Button Switch Symbol

Introduction To Push Button Switch

A push button switch is an electric switch and has an electric mechanism to turn the switch on or off. Push buttons usually have a plunger which is used to turn the switch on or off. A plunger works like a plunger is connected to a contact when a button is pressed that contact connects to another contact and current flows. And pushing the switch when the switch is open closes the switch and pushing the switch in the case when the switch is closed opens the switch. Basically a push button has two operate actions which are key momentary and latching action and this action depends on the push button model.
A push button switch has a lever action such that when a lever is pressed, another lever is released. A push button switch is a manually operated switch and this switch is made of plastic or metal. Push button switch is available in different colors this color can be black, red, yellow, green, white and blue. Push button switches are available in different sizes and specifications, depending on the requirements of the switch

Where to use push button switch?

Push button switches are generally used to open or close circuit current flow. And this switch is commonly used in electrical equipment

Working Of Push Button SwitchConstruction Of Push Button Switch

A push button switch is basically an electric switch and is used to control the current flowing through a circuit. The working of a push button switch is that when the switch opens, pushing the switch closes and when the switch closes, pushing the switch opens the switch. Push button switch is available in different colors this color can be black, red, yellow, green, white and blue. And this switch is manually operated switch and this switch is made of plastic or metal.

What Is The Principle Of Push Button Switch?Working Of Push Button Switch

Basically a push button switch is used to switch an electric circuit on or off. And basically this switch is widely used in industry as well as home appliances. It is an electric switch and this switch is manually pushed. The push button switch functions like start, stop, reverse and forward rotation. And each push button switch has two pairs, which are NO contact and NC contact. Pressing the push button opens the switch when the switch is closed and closes the switch when the switch is open.
What is push button switch used for?
The main function of the push button is to switch the current of the circuit on or off. And it is used to switch power supply or electrical signal on or off in many electrical devices.

Types Of Push Button Switch

Basically the push button switch is divided into four types based on the terminal.
  1. SPST Push Button Switch
  2. SPDT push button switch
  3. DPST Push Button Switch
  4. DPDT push button switch

1. SPST Push Button Switch

SPST push button switch are also known as single pole, single throw push button switches. And basically single pole, single throw push button switches perform on/off action and are commonly known as on/off switches. A single pole, single throw push button switch is used to connect a circuit or connect a circuit connection between two terminals. A single pole, single throw push button switch is used to turn the power supply on or off.
Basically a single pole, single throw push button switch has only one input terminal and only one output terminal and is easy to design.

2. SPDT Push Button Switch

An SPDT push button switch is a three terminal switch and has one input terminal and two output terminals. Basically an SPDT push button switch is used to turn a circuit on and off but these switches have two outputs or two different connections. A single pole double throw (SPDT) push button switch is commonly known as a changeover switch. And this switch connects two different LEDs and basically this switch has one position on the first LED and another position of the switch on the second LED. And a single pole double throw (SPDT) push button switch can turn any two different electrical circuits on, off, and on

3. DPST Push Button Switch

DPST push button switches are also known as double pole, single throw push button switches. And basically this switch has two inputs and two outputs. And this switch is generally used to turn on or off two different circuits. A DPST push button switch has four terminals and they are two input terminals and two output terminals. A double pole, single throw push button switch controls two different circuits simultaneously with one push button

4. DPDT Push Button Switch

DPDT push button switch also called double pole, double throw push button switch, double pole, double throw push button switch has two input terminals and four output terminals. Basically a DPDT push button switch has six terminals and out of these six terminals two are input terminals and four are output terminals and generally one input terminal is connected to two output terminals. Basically a double pole, double throw push button switch consists of two SPDT push button switches

And the push button switch is divided into two types based on the action
  1. Momentary Action
  2. Alternative Actions

1. momentary Action

A momentary push button only works when the actuator is pressed.

2. Alternative Actions

where contacts are maintained until pressed again.

Examples Of Push Button Switch

Basically push button switches are widely used in industries or home appliances and some examples are discussed below.
  • Power On or Off Button : Basically this power button is used to switch the current on or off. And this button is used in mobiles, computers, laptops and other electrical appliances, these electrical appliances turn on or off with a single push.
  • Stopping Machine : This button is used in industry to stop the machine in case of emergency and this button is usually on the wall.

Application Of Push Button Switch

  • Push button is used in electronic gadgets like mobile, laptop keyboard, joystick, computer etc.
  • Push buttons are used in industrial equipment
  • A push button is used in household appliances
